A Voice for Unity & Action

“Facilitation is the art of drawing out what people intrinsically know and letting them own it. It is the art of observing, reflecting, guiding and giving back.” - Ruth Hild

Elections & Campaigns

I have dedicated my career to electing engaged officials up and down the ballot, with a focus on state and local candidates, and also issue based advocacy, community organizing to ensure workers' rights to fair pay, paid-sick and safe leave and the right to organize. I began my career in politics in Seattle, where I worked on local and state races and also successfully passed the Equal Pay Opportunity Act and Three Days Paid Sick and Safe Leave for all workers in Washington, not just unions. I've managed a state-wide canvassing operation in Missouri where we defeated Right to Work twice showing the will of the people through true democratic process with a ballot referendum initiative.

Locally I have worked directly to elect candidates right here in Lansdale and Montco, managing campaigns even during the pandemic, and knocking thousands of doors to deliver decisive victories for judicial, municipal and State Rep candidates. I have also run for local office myself, and as a current Borough Councilmember in Lansdale, I have worked with the Economic Development Committee to advocate for a main street manager and marketing program, and have voted consistently as a voice to update our park and pool systems as Chair of the Parks and Rec committee.

The Impact of

Door Knocking

My door-knocking experience has forever humbled and changed me. I have spoken with thousands of people across the country, from Washington to Wisconsin, to Granite City, Missouri, to voters ranging from moderate, to conservative to down right radical. Through it all, I experienced a common thread of humanity, was invited into homes of people I would never have spoken with or thought I had anything in common with. Broke bread over dinner, drinks, held people as they cried about their health care, their mortgage, their job loss. The plights that have plagued lower and middle class America as we quickly get left behind. Party lines began to blur for me- these were just humans, hurting humans who wanted a better future for their families.  It has since been my life mission to channel the strength and empathy from this pilgrimage into something greater. I returned to my childhood home during Covid, determined to use all that I had learned and experienced for the betterment of my one and only home and community- Lansdale.

Interests

I've got an eclectic set of skillsets and interests. I love the outdoors, canoeing, kayaking, camping, hiking and fishing. I'm a proponent of clean living, clean eating, yoga and meditation. I'm an avid reader and a nerd for all things sci fi and video games. I love live music (read below on what we do to encourage a music scene and venue in Lansdale.) My son and I are working on a 2-part bass and drum band. We are terrible, and having good fun. I recently took up running races, dirt biking, drumming, snowboarding and skateboarding (I mostly practice at the Foundry in Philly in the winter, but if you see me at the Lansdale park, please be kind lol). Above all, I like trying new things, staying active and challenging myself! I would bring this same open mindedness, curiosity, tenacity and energy to the office.

Philosophy

I grew up with a keen focus on sociological structures, human psychology and the science of empathy. I strive to make connections and heal division wherever possible. I hear all across town people with great ideas who are looking to plug in, but they often don't know where or how to start. What our borough needs is strong leadership, community organizing and a shared directive to move towards, with increased accessibility to our local government. We need to make it easier and less grueling for our neighbors to get involved. I will bring this innovation, passion and spirit to each project I work on, and truly believe that we are all here to learn about ourselves and each other, encourage growth, and band together to ease suffering to make the world a better place.

About
Election Day

Did you Know?

There are two Democrats running in the primary this spring, which means for the first time ever, our voters will get to decide who they want to lead. We have "closed primaries" in PA, which means only Democrats can vote for me in May, however if I get through the primary I plan to engage with voters across all political spectrums in town.

I will be at the polls, hosting meet and greets, and also out knocking doors. I hope to have many chances before the primary to talk with you about my vision for Lansdale!

Check your voter status, registration and polling location below!
